Direct from thepost-match press conference at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea defeated Stoke City 2-0 this afternoon.
Frank Lampard is out of England’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria on Friday.
The midfielder, 32, will have an operation on a troublesome hernia on Tuesday.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Lampard could be out of action for up to two weeks after the Blues beat Stoke city 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard missed a penalty, his third in a row and was replaced by Salomon Kalou on 72 minutes.
“He will have surgery on Tuesday,” said the Italian.
“Frank had the same problem 10 years ago. He will be out for one week possibly two.
“Drogba had the same operation and was back in training within a week.
“It’s not a major problem, but he needs it sorted now as he has started to feel pain.
“We gave him treatment this week, but he needs to have this surgery.
“I have already spoken to the England camp – they are aware of it.
John Terry also limped off the pitch at the end of the game, but Ancelotti is confident his skipper will be available for England.
“JT had a fantastic game – he has just a knock he will be fine.”
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis pulled no punches at he laid into Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger about his comments about his player Ryan Shawcross this week.
“We have written To Arsenal, to the FA, the league and to Wenger himself about Arsene’s comments about Ryan (Shawcross),” said Pulis.
“The club will deal with it,” he added. Be a very good player.
People make mistakes but we will be doing our absolute best to keep him at stoke.
“I think he made these comment ahead of his side’s trip to Blackburn in an attempt to influence the referee.
“We have had two world wars to allow us all to have freedom of speech.
“What he said about Ryan was upsetting but Ryan himself is not upset.”
On Asmir Begovic, Pulis said: “The situation with Begovic has being stirred up by faceless people. I’m not going to say who they are.
“It goes on, I am not naieve – Begovic is a young player and he is going to be a very good player.
On the game, Pulis said: We worked our socks off and we had our moments.
“If Etherington’s shot had gone in, it would have been an interesting last 18 minutes.
We played well, Chelsea are a great team, but we must take credit for our performance too.
