And he has reaffirmed his desire to maintain his place in the Chelsea side: "We've changed players and kept everyone fresh. But looking back, there is still normally a core group of five or six players who have stayed pretty regular."

Lamps continued, "I think the manager will work towards that as I think it helps to give you that bit of stability and strength through the team. I want to be one of those player and it's up to those five or six to prove that they can play pretty much week-in and week-out.
"People make a lot out of being left out but, in this squad, a lot of big players will miss games and sometimes important games. You have to make sure you keep your attitude so that, when you come on, you do make a difference.
"I love to play regular football, as everyone does. At the start of the season, everyone was saying that we were going to chop and change but so far I've been one of the ones that has stayed there and that's good."
Lazio defender Jaap Stam remarked last weekend that Lampard is one of the Chelsea players that the Italians fear most and he scored against them at Stamford Bridge.
Lamps recalled: "It's probably my favourite goal as it was one of the biggest games I've played in. We were struggling so to score then was a big thing.
"I'm looking forward to this match big-time. It's one of the games that I came to Chelsea to be involved in and if we can get a result out here then it pushes us towards qualification.
"We'll play to win the game, that's how we always play. We've got a winning mentality around the place these days, which we need. A point wouldn't be a bad result, that's for sure, but we'll start out with the aim of winning."
