Exclusive - Chelsea and Manchester United are among the sides keeping tabs on young Cagliari defender Sebastian Walukiewicz.
The 20-year-old moved to Italy last season and already has 21 appearances to his name, with his good form earning him a debut appearance for the Polish national team in October.
He managed 45 minutes against Finland before playing a starring role in Poland's 0-0 draw with Italy, and a source has confirmed to 90min that a whole host of scouts were impressed by Walukiewicz's performance in the game.
Chelsea and United are two of the sides who have run the rule over the 20-year-old, joining a list of suitors which also includes Inter, Lazio, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.
Scouts have been particularly impressed with Walukiewicz's aerial ability. He won both of his aerial duels against Italy and also completed an impressive five clearances against an Italian attack which featured the likes of Andrea Belotti, Federico Chiesa and Moise Kean.
Cagliari will be in no rush to part ways with their young star. He still has three years remaining on his current contract, and the club also have the option to extend that by a further year.
Walukiewicz has played every minute of Cagliari's last seven Serie A games, impressing alongside former Inter man Diego Godin, and scouts hope to have plenty more opportunities to keep an eye on his progress going forward.
Centre-back is a position in which both Chelsea and United are keen to improve for the future, and Walukiewicz has been identified as one of many potential candidates.
The two sides have both struggled defensively this season and are on the hunt for a long-term solution to their struggles, so scouts have been instructed to monitor a number of young talents over the coming months.
