Melchiot is available on a Bosman free transfer after Chellsea failed to offer him a new contract. But he could still stay in West London once the managerial situation is resolved at Chelsea.

However, should Chelsea deicde against offering him a new deal, Melchiot has no shortage of takers.

The Dutchman told the Daily Star: "Whether it is going to be in England or anywhere else I can't decide at the moment.

"I knew from the beginning of the season I was going to be on a Bosman. I knew exactly what I was doing. I have been in the situation twice before and I'm very comfortable with it."
