Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles sealed a move to Chelsea last night in ?12 million move to Stamford Bridge.
The Portuguese midfielder handed a transfer request in to the Anfield club which forced their move after initially rejecting a ?8 million bid plus Yossi Benayoun.Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas worked with Meireles before he departed from Porto to join Liverpool last August.
The 28-year old played 35 times for the Merseyside club, scoring five goals in his first season in England.He is currently on the sidelines after hurting his collarbone in his previous start against Exeter City in the Carling Cup.Four players did leave Stamford Bridge last night on loans deals.
Benayoun completed a season-long loan deal to Arsenal, Gael Kakuta will play on loan at Bolton, Patrick Van Aanholt heads to Wigan and new signing Ulises Davila will join Vitesse Arnhem for the remainder of the season.
