Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric is now ready to give up on his dream of playing for Chelsea and put pen to paper on a new deal at White Hart Lane.
After accusing Spurs chairman Daniel Levy of breaking a gentleman?s agreement it looked as though Modric?s career at Spurs was over. Modric has five years left on his ?60,000 a week contract but is now prepared to sign a new deal for around ?100,000 per week.
The saga involving Chelsea and Modric rumbled on throughout the summer and was not a welcome distraction for either club. Modric has since started to return to top form after a poor start to the season.
