José Mourinho's achievement in leading FC Porto to successive victories in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Champions League will be recognised by an award from the Portuguese government at a ceremony in Lisbon on Wednesday, reveals uefa.com.
Mourinho will receive a national medal for sporting merit (Colar de Honra ao Mérito Desportivo) at the official residence of the Portuguese prime minister, Pedro Santana Lopes, who it is believed will present the award.
The 42-year-old Chelsea coach guided Porto to victory against Celtic FC in the UEFA Cup final of 2002/03, before they made it a famous double by beating AS Monaco FC in last season's Champions League final.
