Adrian Mutu's expected move Juventus is on hold.
The former Chelsea striker - sacked for drug usage was expected to be unveiled by the Turin giants today.
However that has been put on hold while they are: "awaiting the arrival of Mutu's transfer from the Football Association," according to a club statement.
Mutu, 26, is undergoing rehabilitation for his drug use and is serving a world-wide seven month ban from the game.
Juve general director Luciano Moggi is reported as saying: "He is a player that we had been following ever since he played at Verona.
"It was impossible to sign him at the time as Juve are always very careful to how they go about their business.
"Now that we have the opportunity to acquire him we have jumped at the opportunity because Mutu belongs in the category of champions."
The Professional Footballers' Association revealed, on October 19, last year, that Mutu had failed a drugs test and he was then sacked by Chelsea.
The Blues signed the Romanian hit-man for £16m in August 2003.
