When all the whatsit is hitting the fan, you can reply on Ray to get to the nub of the debate.
Basically all these reports about players meeting Roman Abramovich last week and causing havoc to the extent that Scolari was sacked must have being wrong.
Ray has said, ahead of tomiorrow's FA Cup clash at Watford, that: "There is no player power at this club.
"The results unfortunately have not been what Roman wanted and that's why the change of manager.
"Whenever any coach coaches a club as big as Chelsea, the players that don't play are obviously going to be disgruntled. You can only pick 11 people.
"We certainly don't have a split. None whatsoever.
"The players that were playing would have loved Felipe. If you are not in the side, the manager is a so-and-so. And that has been the case since year dot in football. What do you do? You make sure you get in the side and then he is a nice guy."
Ray went on to say that there are special players at the club and that the team were still in the title hunt.
So there you have it - Phrew!! For a moment I thought the club was riven with dissent.
It was just a couple of poor results which caused the former World Cup manager to lose his job eight months into his contract.
Ray will be in charge of the team for tomorrow's game before Guss Hiddink swans in to take over the reins and take the Blues back to the top of the league, win the FA Cup and Champions League before riding off into the Russian sunset like Shane.
"Come back, Guus, come back".
For those of you too young to know, Shane was a 1953 film.
If you watch it on DVD go straight to the final scene.
