Olivier Giroud arrives for AC Milan medical

Chelsea's Olivier Giroud is expected to fly to Milan shortly where he'll complete a medical before his move to I Rossoneri is confirmed.

The Frenchman has never really cemented his place in the Blues' starting XI since his switch from Arsenal in January 2018, though he has contributed some big goals in his three and a half years at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are looking to freshen up their attacking options this summer, with 90min recently revealing they're willing to spend up to £150m to secure the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Their pursuit of the Norway international means they're keen to move some of their existing strike force on, and Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Giroud will soon fly to Italy before completing a move to Milan.

Once the formality of a medical is out of the way, the 34-year-old striker will pen a two-year deal at San Siro with Chelsea receiving £1m plus add-ons from the sale.

The news means the curtain is about to be drawn on Giroud's illustrious nine-year spell in England. Having moved to Arsenal from Montpellier in 2012, the France international's time with the Gunners and then Chelsea would see him glean four FA Cups, a Europa League and most recently a Champions League.

Giroud may not be the only Chelsea striker heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door, with reports circulating that Tammy Abraham has been offered to a host of clubs as Chelsea look to generate transfer funds.

Tottenham, Inter and Dortmund are all said to have been contacted by the Blues with regards to the sale of Abraham, though currently Arsenal seem the most interested.

The Gunners have taken a number of players off Chelsea's hands in recent seasons including David Luiz, Willian and Petr Cech, and it looks like Abraham could be the latest to join the list.

The Blues value their academy graduate at £40m and it remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta will be willing to fork out such a lofty amount to secure the England international's services.
