Oscar's late strike downs brave Croatia

Chelsea's Oscar scored with a toe poke to net Brazil's third as the World Cup opened with an expected victory over Croatia.

The Chelsea playmaker's effort four minutes from time was enough to overcome a dogged effort from the visitors who had the audacity to take the lead early on through an own goal from Marcelo.

But inspired by Oscar, Neymar equalised before pitting the hosts ahead with a penalty.

Oscar had Chelsea teammate (well notionally) David Luiz playing alongside him, while Ramires came on as a second-half substitute.

While Neymar will take the plaudits, it was Oscar's overall performance who atole the show.
