Chelsea have been chasing Parker for the duration of the January transfer window and were also after the midfielder in the summer until Roman took over.
A statement on the Charlton website read: "Following a further bid from Chelsea, Charlton now confirm that they are in negotiations with Chelsea with a view to completing the transfer of the England international midfielder."
Chelsea had previously had two bids rejected for Parker this month but now us Chelsea fans can only pray that they offer the right sort of money for Parker. But now that Charlton have made their position known, the transfer fee shouldn't be too much of a stumbling block.
With all things going well, Parker should be all signed up by the weekend. The Blackburn game might come to soon for him but, presuming he signs, he should be able to make his debut the following weekend against.... Charlton!! It's a funny old game!
