Alexandre Pato has signed a £35k a week deal until the end of the season for the Blues as he attempts to get his career back on track.
The former AC Milan star, who Chelsea tried to sign almost six years ago passed a medical and will be out to oust Diego Costa from the Chelsea starting line-up.
But the Corinthians man will undoubtably play second fiddle to Costa and most likely find himself on the bench for much of the remainder of the season.
It means than Loic Remy could be on his way out of SW6 as he searches for regular football. The Frenchman is desperate to finish the season on top goal-scoring form ahead of Euro 2016 and knows he won't get that at Stamford Bridge.
Leicester City are set to offer the Blues £11.5million for Remy and with the prospect of Newcastle United entering the race for the striker, his price could go up
Pato said of his move: "I thank Chelsea for their support and hope I can repay this faith to the club and its fans."
Fine word, but only goals will count, Pato, only goals.
