PLAYERS' PLAYER OF THE YEAR (in alphabetical order)
STEVEN GERRARD (Liverpool): The PFA Young Player of the Year in 2001, Steven has continued to grow in stature and it is a tribute to him that the responsibility of being club captain has not affected his performances in the slightest.
Thierry HENRY (Arsenal): The brilliant Frenchman continues to amaze with his wonder goals and his incredible ability on the ball. Last years winner has now been nominated for the fourth year in a row – and deservedly so.
FRANK LAMPARD (Chelsea): One of the most consistent performers in the Premiership – and one of the few players in Chelseas star-studded squad to command a regular first team place.
JAY-JAY OKOCHA (Bolton): The Nigerian international has become a cult figure at the Reebok – and on Sky TVs Soccer AM programme! And not just for his astonishing 'showboating skills either!
Alan SHEARER (Newcastle United): The former England skipper continues to benefit from his international retirement, and so too do Newcastle as Shearer is again in contention for the Golden Boot as well as the Player of the Year award.
PATRICK VIEIRA (Arsenal): Teammate and fellow countryman Thierry Henry may grab most of the headlines, but no-one under-estimates the contribution of skipper Vieira to Arsenals success. Not least Arsene Wenger.
YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR (in alphabetical order)
GLEN JOHNSON (Chelsea): A few eyebrows were raised when Chelsea shelled out over £6million on a teenager with such limited Premiership experience – but nobodys questioning the decision now!
SCOTT PARKER (Chelsea): Claudio Ranieri knew what he was getting when he managed to lure Scott away from his beloved Charlton – a whole-hearted midfield player with bags of passion, and ability.
SHAUN WRIGHT-PHILLIPS (Manchester City): Shaun says he gets a bit tired of constant references to his famous father, but they might cease now that the new England cap is making such a big name for himself.
Wayne ROONEY (Everton):A Young Player of the Year nominee for the second year running, Wayne has more than lived up to the hype surrounding his dramatic rise to stardom at club and international level alike.
JOHN TERRY (Chelsea): Continues to grow in stature both as a defender and a leader and, together with Frank Lampard, is one of the first names Claudio Ranieri writes down on his team sheet. A key man for England too this season.
KOLO TOURE (Arsenal): He has really made his mark in Arsenals star-studded side this season, developing into a top class central defender and the perfect partner for Englands Sol Campbell.
