Parker said "This is very pleasing for me and it rounds off a brilliant season, although there are a couple of things that could still go my way in the summer, such as the Champions League and the European Championship.
"It has been a tough year for me but a brilliant year. It was always going to be tough leaving Charlton because I had not known anything else since the age of nine so it was always going to take a bit of time to settle in at Chelsea but I am happy with the way things are going."
Well done to Scotty, but you have got to feel for JT. Firstly, he should have been going for the main award, not the young player award, as he has been amazing his season. If there has been a better defender in the league this season I have yet to see him.
Further evidence of his excellent season is that he was named in the PFA team of the year. The same team of the year that was lacking a certain Scott Parker.
Oh well, at least Kolo Toure or Wayne Rooney didn't win it!
