Here's what Claudio had to say about Zola: "It is good for us that Gianfranco has been in such good condition. He is 'Gianfranco the Younger'. He has a mentality, a passion and a heart for the game, he wants to play well."
"He has got a good feeling with the crowd and when he arrived for pre-season, he had already had a 'pre-season' at home. He arrived ready to play.
"His second goal was a great finish, but all my players believed this victory was possible. When we were 2-1 down at half-time in the dressing room the guys all believed in the possibility of victory."
Despite seeing his team slip up, Graeme Souness had only kind words for Zola "As for the winner, when Gianfranco Zola goes back home to live in Italy, whenever he is remembered it will be for scoring goals like that, which he has done on so many occasions.
"If he's on the edge of the box he's always looking to move the ball onto his right foot and curl it in, that's his trademark, and you have to keep him on his left.
"I knew what he was going to do from the touchline, so the defenders must have known."
With four goals scored already this year by Zola, he looks like making it one to remember... And Steve Furlong's interview with Zola will be coming to the site soon- watch this space...
