The future of both players has been the subject of speculation of late and Ranieri said: "I hope very much that they will stay here this season, but their agents don't seem to want them to. I have to talk to these agents, but not in public, not on TV or in the newspapers.
"It's important that we discuss what they want and reach an agreement before we start to play serious football."
The manager added: "Players must have nothing else on their mind but playing for Chelsea, I am confident we can get everybody together and thinking that way before the match against Charlton."
Leeds United, Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked to French ace Gallas. Meanwhile Sunderland and Blackburn are said to have shown an interest in Gudjohnsen, although the Iceland international has said that speculation last week linking him with a possible move away from Stamford Bridge was off the mark.
Eidur’s agent Peter Harrison confirmed that the striker is due to have talks this week with the club about an extension to his current contract.
Harrison has also denied reports suggesting his client will ask for a transfer if The Blues do not give him the deal he is looking for.
