Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri has revealed that the days of big spending are over at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "The board want me to work on developing youngsters and that is a different way of thinking for Chelsea."
This seems to be confirmed with The Sun also publishing an article about the prospects of the younger players at Stamford Bridge breaking through to the first team.
The piece quoted Ranieri as saying, "I have some good young British players coming through - like Cole, Huth and Keenan. I like them, they impress me." Ranieri also indicated that youngsters such as Carlton Cole, Robert Huth and Jo Keenan could have a key role to play next season.
