Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan have also been linked with the 25-year-old, who has a €30million (?26million) release clause in the remaining three years of his contract.
But Guarin's agent, Marcelo Ferreyra, claims Roma have made enquiries and his client could be allowed to leave for less than €30m.
And speculation has only increased regarding Colombia star Guarin's Porto future following reports the club are considering Standard Liege's Steven Defour as a possible replacement.
Ferreyra told calciomercatoweb: "The interest from Roma exists.
We wait until Giallorossi make an official offer and also to know the intentions of Porto.
"Is the club is willing to let the player go? If they get a good offer, I think so.
"He has a release clause of €30million, but if the interest is serious and concrete he can also leave for a lower figure.
"But I don't think that €10million would be enough."
