When you're the multi-billionairre owner of a London based football club and you say that you like the look of a player, it's obvious that stories will come of it.
Gianfranco Zola agrees that Thierry Henry would be a good signing, but thinks it's unlikely that Arsenal will do business: "He'd be a good man for Chelsea but I'm not sure he'd be very willing to do it. Chelsea need to find a player who the young players will look up to, as it's important to have motivation and create enthusiasm. It's important to find a player with those qualities. And I think that's a priority for the club."
Henry fits the bill perfectly as, not only is he the model professional but he's also one of the best players in Europe.
Yet Arsenal have offered a swift hands off warning to Abramovich. A statement released by the club said "We are not in the business of selling our best players. We are trying to buy players.
"There is no logic in selling players to help other clubs prosper."
Have we heard the end of this story though? How much will Abramovich bid if he is serious about Henry??
