Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is increasingly expected to sign a new long-term contract with the club, which could come 'in the next few days'.
Araujo's current deal at Camp Nou is due to expire in 2023 and in recent months he been heavily linked with a move away this summer when it appeared that an agreement wasn't going to happen - Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool were among thee clubs most often linked.
However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Uruguayan centre-back will put pen to paper on a new four-year contract until 2026. That will secure his future until he turns 27, with a buyout clause to be set at €1bn - the same figure included in the contracts of Ansu Fati and Pedri.
Barcelona have been locked in talks over a new contract with Araujo for quite some time after he became one of the best performers under Xavi's leadership at the club.
However, Araujo's intention was always to stay at Barcelona as long as he receives a decent pay rise, which the club agreed to match.
The Catalan giants are also thought to be in ongoing talks with 17-year-old midfielder Gavi, who is believed to be next in line for a new contract at Camp Nou.
The teen sensation, who has been linked with Liverpool, is thought to have rejected three offers from Barcelona and the club continue to be in contact with his entourage over a possible deal.
The Blaugrana are said to have already prepared a new improved contract offer for the Spaniard and will look to seal an agreement to ensure the youngster remains in Catalonia.
