Sir Fergie denied any knowledge of a Chelsea bid yesterday, insisting that he would be delighted if the Argentinian star remained at Old Trafford.
However, this morning Fernando Hidalgo (Seba's agent) revealed that a bid had been made- and Veron would be happy to join! He said "Chelsea made an offer very recently to Manchester United for the transfer of Juan Veron. When the offer was proposed to us we were willing to accept it, as long as the personal terms would be what the player requested.
"We have to look at the contract that Chelsea would be willing to offer and also to have a resolution with Manchester United.''
But Hidalgo refused to rule out the possibility of his client remaining with the reigning Premiership champions: "I'm not aware of Ferguson's quotes but obviously Manchester United have the last word. Both clubs will still have to agree to the transfer - but Veron would be equally happy to remain in Manchester."
When will this whole thing be resolved?? Let's hope it's soon as there is no disguising the fact that Chelsea need a new central midfielder- be it a defensive or attacking midfielder...
