'Sell if you want to buy,' Scolari told

The credit cruch is about to hit Chelsea hard and the top brass are believed to have told Luiz Felipe Scolari he will have to sell if he's to buy players.
The January transfer window is usually a time for top clubs to buy a player to add to the squad, or ease an injury hit club.
But with the global recession about to hit, Chelsea are going to find it tough to justify any major purchases.

Roman Abramovich is believed to have being hit hard in the past couple of months as his multibillion-pound empire has suffered in the finacial crisis.

Chelsea will be monitoring what Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are doing before they jump in to get in new players.
If, as expected there is little activitiy at the top end of the market, Chelsdea might decide to try and ride out the storm and no bring in any players.
Either way, Scorlari will have to move on a couple of fringe stars if he earmarks a weal area of his squad.
