Andre Schurrle propelled Germany into the quarter-final of the World Cup tonight when he scored the first goal in his country's 2-1 over Algeria.
Schurrle was a secon-half substitute but soon showe'd his worth by back-flicking the ball into the net, before Ozil scored the second. Algeria got one back at the feat of extra-time, but it was too late for the Afrocan side.
Chelsea's Mikel however exited the World Cup earlier in the evening when his side Nigeria lost 2-0 to France.
