Desailly has been in inspired form this season at the back as the Blues have registered one of the best defensive records in the country. But he is wary that the Blues season, as so often happens, will fade out when it comes to the finishing straight.

Desailly said, "We've realised that we have nearly the same points as last year at this stage and we are the same in the cups.

"But the feeling at Chelsea is completely different. This year, it feels like Chelsea are doing well. It feels like a lot is possible but, in fact, we haven't really done anything special at the moment to be pleased about. It is only at the end that we are going to make the final count."
