We have officially OD'd on midfielders!
Today, the club's official website released a statement: "The signing has been completed of Russian international Alexei Smertin. The 28 year-old defensive midfielder has been purchased from Bordeaux for a fee of 5million euros having played in France for the last three seasons. Previously he was with Lokomotiv Moscow."
On the positive side, at least he hasn't cost too much money!
