Chelsea's reward for an impressive 4-1 win at home to Everton on Wednesday night was to be immediately handed a tough tie at Manchester United later this month.
However, the Blues won 3-0 at Old Trafford last season and have a superb record at the ground, while they have so far been fielding stronger sides in the competition than United.
Terry declared: "Obviously it's going to be a tough game. They are playing well at the minute but so are we and we will go there hoping to win.
"Will we have any fear? No. Everyone finds it difficult to go there and get a result but we had a good result there last year and won 3-0.
"They haven't really been putting a full-strength side out in the Worthington Cup and we're looking forward to it."
Gianfranco Zola was Chelsea's inspiration against Everton, setting up first-half goals for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Emmanuel Petit with superb through-balls.
Terry, meanwhile, was simply delighted to have been recalled to the side as skipper Marcel Desailly was rested. The 21-year-old defender was handed the captain's armband in Desailly's absence, in what was clearly a public vote of confidence in him by manager Claudio Ranieri.
"It was brilliant for me to be back in the side and we played outstandingly," he told Sky Sports."
The manager gave me a boost before the game in handing me the armband, so I'm pleased to be back and just looking forward to Saturday now."
Terry paid tribute to the support given to him earlier this year when he was charged following a nightclub incident and cleared at his ensuing trial.
"It was a terrible situation at the time but I don't want to dwell on the past. I look forward to a long future with Chelsea," he said.
"I wasn't behaving in a bad way or anything like that but I'm now eating properly, training harder and working harder in the gym.
"I just want to be back in this great Chelsea team. Marcel Desailly and William Gallas are both playing well but hopefully I'll get my place back soon."
