John Terry was cleared on charges of wounding with intent to cause GBH, unlawful wounding, possessing a bottle as an offensive weapon, and affray.
Jody Morris was also cleared of affray, although Des Byrne, also on trial was found guilty of possessing a bottle as an offensive weapon. The Wimbledon player was fined £2000 and ordered to pay damages believed to be a further £1000.
When the verdict was read out in court, Terry burst out in tears of relief following eight months of uncertainty. The trial also cost him a place in England's World Cup squad as he would surely have been picked by Sven had it not been for his trial.
Although Terry appeared delighted as he left the court, he was quickly met by swarms of reporters and photographers, but he refused to comment leaving his soliciter to answer any questions.
Despite being cleared of the charges, Terry is not expected to play any part against Manchester United on Friday, although Morris has been included in the provisional squad for the game.
Both myself and Steve would like to express our relief at having the player's cleared of the charges and let's just hope that John Terry and Jody Morris can get back to doing what they do best... playing football!
