John Terry was a doubt before last night's match against Middlesbrough.
During the pre-match warm up Terry left the pitch early complaining of a problem with his ankle.
Assistant manager Steve Clarke confirmed the scare.
"John went onto the pitch as normal," said the Scotsman.
"But he had difficulty with a stiff ankle, so he came off the pitch for some intensive massaging.
"Thankfully it seem to cure the problem and as you can see from his terrific performance, it did not affect him too much."
