Transfer Updates

Roman Abramovich has reportedly set his sights on making Wayne Rooney his first major signing, although it seems highly unlikely Everton would sell, even after we allegedly offered £30 million for the 17-year old.

And Everton confirmed as much when spokesman Ian Ross said "There is no way Rooney is going to Stamford Bridge - at any price.

"There has been no contact from Chelsea and, as has been made clear many times, David Moyes is in the process of building a team at Everton - not deconstructing one."

That settles that then.

And another Chelsea target looks set to disappoint Abramovich by signing for Real Madrid- you guessed it, it's Ronaldinho. Real have offered the best money so far, and even offered to loan the Brazilian back to PSG for next season. And PSG president Francis Graille seems keen on the deal.

"We're very close to an agreement for Ronaldinho with Real. And we're confident we can find a solution," Graille said.

"Real want to sign Ronaldinho for the season after next, which is good for us as we want him to stay for one more season.

"Manchester made a modest offer that wasn't worth considering. We've not had any contact with them since we turned down their offer."

Ronaldinho's agent and brother Roberto Assis commented: "What footballer wouldn't love to play for Real? All the superstars play for them."

But I thought Ronaldinho would never play for PSG again- so why would he want to go back there on loan next season when he is desperate for Champions League football? I don't think we've heard the last of this by any means...
