Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was fined ?12,000 ($18,784) by the Football Association (FA) on Tuesday for his comments about referee Chris Foy following a Premier League defeat by QPR last month.
Villas-Boas, who was also warned as to his future conduct, by an independent regulatory commission, had previously admitted he was "very aggressive" with Foy after accosting him following the loss.
"He (Foy) lost it.. he was card happy towards the (Chelsea) team," the Portuguese said about a defeat that saw Chelsea lose ground on leaders Manchester City.
Chelsea are currently 12 points adrift of City following a 2-1 loss at home to Liverpool last weekend -- a defeat that increased the pressure on Villas-Boas who, after guiding Porto to a trophy treble last term, was brought in before the start of this season after the London club sacked Carlo Ancelotti.
Villas-Boas though insisted he felt no extra strain after the Liverpool loss, even though Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is notorious for the speed with which he dispenses with managers.
"The owner didn't pay 15 million euros (?13 million, $20 million) to get me out of Porto to pay me another fortune to get out," said Villas-Boas, who has overseen the worst start to a season for Chelsea since Abramovich took over eight years ago.
Chelsea are away to German club Bayer Leverkusen in a group stage match in the Champions League -- a tournament they've yet to win to the frustration of Russian billionaire Abramovich -- on Wednesday.
