Villas-Boas: I am not looking for another job
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas Was bullish about his future at Stamford Bridge, declaring "I'm not looking for another job."
The Portuguese remains confident that he has a future at Stamford Bridge and is already looking forward to next season's "project" at SW6.
Following his side's 3-0 over Bolton Wanderers, Villas-Boas said: "There is no pressure on me, the pressure is on the team to get results.
"I did not need to win today to keep my job.
"I am not looking for another job. It's good to be connected to big clubs like Inter Milan but there is no vacancy there.
"There is a strong belief within the club that we can do great things next season.
"We have not being impressed in recent matches, and we must build from today.
"We must solve (win) against Birmingham in Cup and Napoli in the Champions League.
"We need to be more competent.
Returning Lampard, Cole and Essien to the side from the midweek Champions League defeat, Villas-Boas explained the decision in purely tactical terms: "it was a different formation against Naploi with defensive midfielders with Mata in the hole.
"Today, it was a return to a 4:3:3 formation, soit was straightforward really - normal squad rotation.
As for the Bolton game itself, Villas-Boas c.aimed his side were "competent" throughout.
"we did well in the first half but could not score. We did early in the second a half and then Bolton had to come out at us. When we found the first goal, we had more space."
Under fire centre-back David Luiz has been criticised of late Villas-Boas. Sees no reason to change his defender's style of play.
"It is part of or characteristic to push our centre-backs forward," he said.
"So long as we have cover," he quickly added.
And using a new word created all by himself, Villas -Boas said that he "incentivates" Luiz to do that.
"Bit I don't see Luiz as a midfielder, he is a centre-back," he emphasised.
Frank Lampard may have had a sparkling game and scored once again against Bolton, must he will sweat on his inclusion for next week's league match at WBA.
"Lamps is not guaranteed to play next week," said Villas-Boas.
"There are six players vying for two positions. other players were disappointed not to be playing today. You have to disconnect between the goal and the performance," he added.
"Lamps was a great performance today and when he plays like this he is clearly closer to playing the next game."
Villas-Boas is always a bit less certain in his speech when it comes talking about Roman Abramovich.
When asked about what he said to the owner after the Napoli defeat, he correctly said he did not speak to Abramovich. Realising while that was true and that he did speak to his advisor who passed on the message, Villas-Boas admitted that Abramovich did not give any feedback from the answers he supplied him.
