Hasselbaink, who finally opened his goal scoring account for the season with the first goal in Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Viking FK in Thursday nights UEFA Cup first-round first-leg tie and is one of the reasons why Zola believes they will avoid another embarrassing European early exit.
He said: "I am pleased for Jimmy - he needed a goal to break the ice. He is going to keep on doing that because he was born for scoring goals.
"We want to go through in this competition and we're going to prove it in the next leg. We know they are a better side at home but we are the same away and I am confident we are going to go through."
"We want to go through and I think we will. Like me, everybody wants to go as far as possible in Europe. We didn't do very well in Europe the last two years but I don't know the reason. We couldn't get it going in Europe and that's our fault, I'm not trying to avoid it."
