Zola Still Undecided...

So, Franco still won't say what he is up to next season. As they say, no news is good news- but the longer he delays, the more likely it seems that he will bow out this summer.

But, whatever he decides, he will have the backing of Chelsea-Mad. For nearly 7 years, he has amazed the Bridge faithful like no player ever has done- not including opposition players! And, to top it all off, he is the perfect gentleman on and off the pitch- a legend in every sense of the word.

So take your time Franco, don't rush your decision and remember- keep the blue flag flying high!

If Franco does stay, he will be joined by his fellow country man Marco Ambrosio, signed from Chievo this week. I'll be honest here, I don't know an awful lot about Ambrosio. I saw him play for the first time in the recent match between Chievo and Juventus and, despite the fact that he conceded four goals, he looked pretty impressive. But we can't judge him on just one performance- and I can't see him playing too much for the Blues with Carlo outstanding as our number one.

I thought it was a bit odd that we were adding two goalies to the ranks when we have the afforementioned Mr Cudicini, Jurgen Macho and the young Lenny Pidgeley. But it would seem as though Lenny is being loaned out for next season so that he can gain valuable first team, making Ambrosio's signing seem a bit more necessary.

And finally, wasn't it great to see John Terry finally pull on an England shirt at senior level. He wasn't particularly busy though, so we didn't get to see the real John Terry but at least we didn't concede whilst he was on the pitch.

Lamps also had a steady if, at times, unspectacular match. He played a big part in Gerrard's goal and generally passed and tackled well. Hopefully Sven will see the stability he can bring to the side against Slovakia.

But I'll leave you with this thought- last night, Emile Heskey, Phil Neville and Jamie Carragher all held the captain's armband at some stage of the match. What has international football come to...
