Player Ratings: Man City (h)

Carlo Cudicini- Still the best in the business and he will continue to prove it time and time again. His stop from Robbie Fowler was out of this world and he also made several vital saves late on. 8 out of 10

Mario Melchiot- Given his first start at right back since the Spurs game last month, Mario was very disappointing. In the attacking third his crossing was slack and his defending was often sloppy, although he worked hard for the team. 6

John Terry- Solid as a rock. I think it's safe to say that JT has made the step up from being potentially a very good centre half to actually being a very good centre half! 8

William Gallas- Still doesn't look 100%, although that just goes to show what a good player he is! Handled Nicolas Anelka well enough today and always looks comfortable in possesion. 7

Wayne Bridge- I'm yet to be convinced by Wayne Bridge and this performance will have done nothing to change my mind. Nealry everything good about City came when they were attacking Bridge and, but for a combination of great goalkeeping and poor finishing, it could have been a bad afternoon for the former Southampton star. 6

Jesper Gronkjaer- Poor perfromance by the Dane and it came as no suprise to see him hauled off midway throught the second half. Crossed superbly for Lampard's disallowed goal but, other than that, did very little. 6

Claude Makelele- Another solid performance by Claude, who seems well suited to the Premiership. His presence allows the rest of the midfield to play as he does the job of two men in midfield. Ran all afternoon and kept the City midfield as busy as they have been for a while. 8

Frank Lampard- Is there a more consistent player in the Premiership? If someone can remember the last time Lamps had a poor game could they let me know please- because I sure as hell can't remember! 8

Joe Cole- Has had to be patient during his time at the club so far but if he keeps playing like this he won't have to be. Always looked lively and he is already a favourite with the Stamford Bridge faithful. His passing was second to none today. 8

Adrian Mutu- Always looked lively and his touch is just out of this world. The City defence will have been glad to see the back of Mutu at the full time whislte as he ran them ragged all afternoon. 9

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink- Took his goal well enough, although I don't think he knew an awful lot about it! He was wasteful with the rest of his finishing but he got his goal and, despite having his doubters, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is still the top scorer at Chelsea- over two months into the season... 7
