Nathaniel Chalobah scored Chelsea's youth team's winner with three minutes to go to defeat plucky Barnsley at Stamford Bridge tonight.
The centre-back, just 16, flicked a back-header into the net after a wonderful free-kick from star of the future Josh McEachran.
But like the previous round against Arsenal, the FA Youth Cup holders had to come from behind.
The Blues went 0-1 down within eight seconds of the start when striker Danny Rose lashed home from close range.
But the kids kept their composure and and dominated possession for the remainder of the half, while not putting the South Yorkshire side under undue pressure.
Clearly Chelsea boss Dermot Drummy had strong words during half-time.
The Blues came out with all guns blazing and were level within 60 seconds.
Josh McEachran was the creator of his own goal, with a wonderful one-two with Billy Clifford before he too lashed home an unstoppable left-footer from right yards out.
In truth, there was only one team ever likely to win the game, but with extra time looming, it was relief when McEachran got the ball. It was he who set up Chalobah's winner.
McEachran, took a swerving left-footed free kick from almost the corner flag area.
Chalobah managed to get to the ball before Barnsley's goalkeeper Lukas Lidakvicius and the ball bounced off the back of the defender's head and into the net.
It sent the 3,000 strong sell-out crowd into rapture.
Chelsea will face Watford in the 6thy round and the tie will be at home - presumably at Stamford Bridge.
