Everton 3 Chelsea 6

Diego Costa set Chelsea on their way to a thumping 6-3 win over Everton by scoring twice - the first after 37 seconds, his last and Chelsea's sixth on 90 minutes.

The Toffeemen, for their part, netted three times in a sensational goal-fest that started with a goal on 37 seconds and ended with the final smack in the back of the net on 90 minutes.

That first goal came from the trusty left boot of Diego Costa, his third in three games (equalling the club record set by Adrian Mutu) and the last of the eight and Chelsea' s sixth by the same boot of the Brazil-born Spain striker.

In-between, Branislav Ivanovic, an own goal by Seamus Coleman, a fierce drive by Nemanja Matic and a clipped effort by Ramires enthralled the sell-out crowd.

Everton, stung by a two-goal deficient, grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and forced their way back into it, but they couldn't quite catch the goal-scoring exploits of the new league leaders,

Kevin Mirallas, Steven Naismith and ex-Chelsea hit man Samuel Eto'o scored for the home side. But it wasn't enough and one the most bizarre away wins in Chelsea's Premier League came to a rousing crescendo.

Diego Costa's opener came after just 37 seconds. A brilliant move that involved Ramires, Willian and then Cesc Fabregas saw the Chelsea striker beat the offside trap and plant a solid right footer that Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard could do nothing about.

Two minutes later and the Chelsea faithful were cheering from the rafters as the Blues doubled their lead.

Again a five-man move tore Everton's rearguard to sheds and right-back Branislav Ivanovic was on hand to slam the ball into the back of the home side's net.

A suggestion that the Serbian's trailing leg might have been offside was given some credence from TV replays but referee John Moss ignored the desperate calls to have the goal chalked off.

To give Everton some credit, they recover quite well after that and were a tad unlucky, when on 17 minutes, defender Sylvain Distin tucked home from close range after Romelu Lukaku saw his powerful header from a corner beat Thibaut Courtois but ricochet off the crossbar.
Moss, however adjudged that the centre-back was in an offside position and disallowed the effort.

The remainder of the half saw Chelsea effectively camped in their own half as Everton pushed forward for the goal that would get that back into the game.

A Kevin Mirallas 25-yarder, 10 minutes from the break, was on target but Courtois stood firm and plucked the rasper out of the air comfortably.

Everton got what they deserved on the stroke of half-time. Working the ball well on the right, Seamus Colman sent in the perfect curling right-footer which was met superbly on the forehead of in-running Mirallas, who glanced the ball past the despairing dive of Courtois.

No changes of personnel were made during the interval.
Buoyed by that final first-half kick, Everton restarted the game the stronger, pushing the Londoners into retreat mode.

But a quick break seven minutes in, saw Fabregas play a trademark inch-perfect pass to Costa, who strode manfully forward unchallenged into the Everton penalty area.

He tried to daisy-cut the ball past Howard but the goalkeeper stuck out his left left to deflect the ball away from goal and for a corner.

That gilt-edged chance was followed two minutes by a snap shot from Costa, from close range, time set up by Eden Hazard. Howard was at his near post to snuffle the effort.

Perhaps feeling a bit frustrated, Costa, who had been having a running battle with Coleman, fell for the full-back's disruptive tactics and responded accordingly - ending up in Moss's yellow book.

It has to be said, that on 65 minutes, and against the run of play, Hazard, on the left raced into the Everton area, he tried to cut the ball back across goal, but the hapless Colman stick out a leg and sent the ball past a pone Howard to make it 3-1 to the visitors.

Costa and Howard then got into a verbal altercation, neither play received any official a sanction.
Everton responded four minutes later when Kevin Naismith slipped through Chelsea's defence and tucked the ball home past Courtois to reduce the deficit to one goal.

Jose Mourinho, clearly sensing that the Blues were struggling, brought Mikel off the bench. But before the Nigerian midfielder could enter the fray, the Blues sensationally scored again.
Ramires passed a simple ball to Nemanja Matic on the edge of the Everton penalty area. He took two touches to set himself up before ramming a left-footer past Howard and nestling the ball, off the post and into the net. Mikel then replaced Willian.

But the goal-scoring hadn't finished yet as Everton substitute and ex-Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o got his head onto a Leighton Baines free-kick to nod the ball, ahead of Ivanovic and past Courtois on 76 minutes.

Then incredibly the visitors restored their two goal advantage a minute later when Matic clipped the ball into the path of Ramires who tucked the ball home past Howard from an acute angle.

Five goals were scored in that 11 minutes and Everton even hit the post on 80 minutes as Mirallas's header lopped over Courtois but bounced off his left upright.
Didier Drogba replaced Fabregas with two minutes in the clock.

Everton replaced Lukaku with Muhamed Besic and the first touch, on 90 minutes, of the Bosnian was to back flick the ball, in midfield, disastrously to Mikel. The midfielder raced towards goal, then clipped the ball to Costa who strode forward before driving a fierce left footer past Howard for Chelsea's sixth goal of the game.

What a game, what terrible defending, what clinical finishing - what chances a Premier League title - three wins out of three for the Londoners.

The players did fantastically well.
I know Everton are a an attacking team.
Diego had three chances and scored two goals

I know nothing about Remy , but we are trying since yesterday to get Remy.
Now it's time to make some calls.
I have a fantastic doctor I trust him completely -

No one expect nine goals between two top five sides from, last year.
But we played to win, like them.
But we made defensive mistake,
We training on our defensive work this week. But it was better on Wednesday. I should have stayed at home with my wife and kids, instead.
When we had the ball, we were aggressive and very good on the counter-attack.
Coasta was great, very aggressive, face to face with Howard. His movement is quality.
I did not like how the Everton players were trying to create a problem with Diego.
Strange as Everton's play is good, they are positive.
To be asking for cards to Costa is wrong. Diego is mane the b player I the premier
League at the momment, but he has two yellow cards.
One at Burnley when he should have had a penalty.

I would prefer to win 6-0.
I want the team to be positive - even people I have on the bench will be positive, like as hurdle and Salah.
But I don't want them to make defensive mistake. If they score it's becauseh they did brilliantly.
Today we made three mistakes foe the goal.

Jose Mourinho is one hard man to please. Having seen his charges thump six goals past Everton at Goodison Park tonight, he still took time out to lambast his defence for conceding three.
"No one expected nine goals in the Premier League by two teams when were in the top five last season," he said.
"But the fact is that they played to win, to score - we played to win, to score, so when you have two teams like ours, it's possible but we made defensive mistakes.
"I don't want to speak about Everton, Roberto [Martinez] can do that himself.

Its not as if Mourinho hadn't made it clear to his players what to expect from Everton.
"It's difficult to believe that on Wednesday afternoon," he said, "that we trained for one and a half hours and we did just two things, defensive corners and defending free-kicks.
"So imagine how happy I am that the result of our work was better on Wednesday than in the match.
"I should have stayed at home with my wife and my kids instead. What was the point of that training on Wednesday when we produced that ridiculous defensive performance.
"Every time we had the ball, we were aggressive, we were dangerous, on the counter- attack and in our organisation - We were very good with the ball, but defensively we were poor."

His new striker Diego Costa scored twice making that four goals in three games for the Blues since his move from Atletico Madrid in the summer, and Mourinho is full of praise for the spain hitman.

"It was a fantastic performance by Diego Costa in every aspect," he said.
"I remember in the first half he was tackling Seamus Colman at the edge of our box. He recovered the ball, he held the ball up. He was aggressive, and face to face with Tim Howard three times, he scored twice, and forced Howard into a great save for the third effort.
"His movement and quality was really good."

Mourinho then took issue with the behaviour of some of the Everton players, suggesting that they were trying to get Costa sent off.
"The only thing I did not like in the game, apart from our defensive mistakes, was the way they were trying to create a problem for Diego. I don't think this is English football and somewhat a contradiction with Everton, as everything is positive with them - the manger and philosophy and they way they play their dynamic football.
"But to be chasing cards for a player that has good behaviour and who is just here to play good football and win the match is disappointing.
"Diego is maybe the best player in the Premier League at the moment and he has two yellow cards in three matches.
"Maybe he is the top scorer and he has two yellow cards. The one against Burnley was when he got a yellow for simulation when it was a clear penalty. And today, everyone was chasing him to get him in trouble - that is disappointing."

Harping back to the defensive frailties of his side, Mourinho said that rather her the score being 6-3 he would prefer that they won 6-0 "playing fantastic attacking football and defensive football.
"I want the team to play the way they did and be positive.
"I told them at half-time we were winning 2-1 and, with a team like Everton, you cannot sit back and defend for 45 minutes you have to try and hurt them by scoring. Even the players on the bench like Mohamed Salah and Andre Schurrle are positive players, fresh wingers. But I don't want us to make defensive mistakes, I want the opponent to score only if they were brilliant and did something that was difficult for us to control.
"Despite them scoring three great goals, they were from our defensive mistakes."
